HOW TO MEMORIZE ENGLISH VOCABULARY

What is language without words? You need a large-foreign vocabulary to speak the language well. Build it up by reviewing doesn't only mean that you always read a bunch of the same words again and again and then check their meaning in your mother tongue. But it also means that you should get involved with the language. The activities can be reading, speaking, writing, and or listening. The more you interact with the language you are learning, the better you would be at the language.
Here are the starting steps you can take to boost the amount of your vocabulary:
1. Make a two-column list of new words for each new lesson.
2. Include word that aren't in the textbook lesson: words you may pick up from your
teacher, from native speakers, or from the title of new movie in cinemas, or even
from a book you are reading.
3. Study vocabulary by covering one column as you move down the other.
4. Cover the other column and go through the list again. Repeat.
5. Review older vocabulary every few days.
6. Review again and often! Without review, your newly acquired vocab will fast
become your newly forgotten vacab and, later, your long forgotten vocab.
7. Integrate review into your daily routine so that it no longer seems like a burden.
8. Find a native speaker to talk with or, better yet, visit a place where the
language is spoken. Speaking with one native speaker everyday will help you learn
the language smoothly.
9. Learn with a friend. You can practice a question and answers more effectively and it will be a lot more fun. Translate simple English songs into Indonesian language.
Poems or anything else you can remember easily work too.
10. Try to use word in context with English or words you already know. Find fun in
learning the language. Stick with it.
11. Watch movie and tv programs in English language. Read English newspapers or
magazine and sing songs in English.
12. The earlier you learn a languag, the better it'll stick. If you haven't doneit
yet up until now, start it now!
